SECTION 120:10-1-5. Intent of zoning plan

- (a) It is the intent of the regulations in this Chapter to provide for the regulation of the uses of land in a manner which is compatible with and necessary for the proper functioning of the Oklahoma Health Center, the Oklahoma State Capitol Complex Subdistrict buildings and areas, and for the preservation of their monumentality and historical significance; and further to protect private residential, commercial and industrial land uses and the general welfare of the occupants and to provide for the integration of the uses of land within the established District and the uses of land in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan area, which the Capitol-Medical Center Improvement and Zoning District as a part.(b) It is not the intent of the regulations in this Chapter to provide opportunity for all uses of land in the metropolitan area, but only for those public and private uses which may be normally associated with the present and future needs and the preservation of the urban character of the Capitol-Medical Center Improvement and Zoning District.
