SECTION 165:35-41-2. Goals

- (1) Minimize the long-term cost of utility service,(2) Avoid or delay the need for new generation, transmission, and distribution investment, and(3) Encourage and enable utility customers to make the most efficient use of utility capacity and energy and reduce wasteful use of energy.(b) The Commission shall set specific savings goals for each utility to reduce the rate of growth of peak demand, energy usage, and capacity addition without adversely affecting customer comfort or state economic activity, based on market potential studies, integrated resource plans, or other evidence presented as part of the hearing process for approval of a utility's Demand Programs.
