I, Frank Keating, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, by the authority vested in the Office of the Governor by the Constitution and the laws of the State of Oklahoma, in order to obtain federal funds from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention of the U.S. Department of Justice for the purpose of reducing delinquency the capacity of local governments, communities, and neighborhoods to conduct effective juvenile justice and delinquency prevention and rehabilitation programs and activities. Because it is the statutory responsibility of the Department of Juvenile Justice in the Office of Juvenile Affairs to be the state planning and coordinating agency for statewide juvenile justice and delinquency prevention services, I hereby direct the following:
1. The Office of Juvenile Affairs is hereby designated as the state agency responsible for supervising the preparation and administration of the State plan for juvenile justice and delinquency prevention submitted under Section 5633 of Title 42 of the United States Code. 2. That the Office of Juvenile Affairs and the Commission on Children and Youth collaborate in the orderly transfer of responsibilities necessary to implement this Order not later than March 15, 1996.
