SECTION 210:40-79-4. Procedures for evaluation of Alternative Education Academies Grants Program for Mid-Sized and Small Schools applications

- (a) The State Department of Education will choose an external committee comprised of educators to serve on the evaluation committee.(b) The evaluation committee will meet to read, evaluate, and score the application forms after the application submission deadline.(c) The grant administrator will ensure that during the evaluation process, a committee member is not asked to read, evaluate, or score an application from his or her own district.(d) The evaluation committee will read, evaluate and score each application based on the appropriateness of the expected goals.(e) The scores of the applications will be based on analysis of data by the evaluation committee as they consider each application in terms of stated criteria.(f) The grant administrator will add the score of each evaluator to arrive at a single score for each grant application.(g) The grant administrator will prepare a final list of programs recommended for funding and submit them to the State Board of Education for approval.
