Subchapter 3. Point Source Discharges |
SECTION 252:690-3-78. Implementation of bacteriological criteria to protect the Public and Private Water Supply beneficial use
Latest version.
- Public and Private Water Supply bacteriological limitations apply at all times at a point of intake. However, for waters with the PBCR beneficial use, the PBCR bacteriological requirements are more stringent during the recreation season and limitations developed under 252:690-3-86 apply. Permits for point source discharges of bacteria that are located less than 5 stream miles upstream of a water supply intake or discharges to a lake located within 5 miles of a water supply intake will include a total coliform MAL of 5000/100 ml expressed as a geometric mean and a DML of 20,000/100ml. The limit does not apply to discharging lagoons in compliance with OAC 252:656-11-2(b) unless Water Quality Standards are violated.
