SECTION 310:638-1-5. Drugs approved for testing in urine or saliva

- (a) A licensed testing facility may test for any drug or class of drugs or their metabolites included in Schedule I, II, or III of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. § 801, et seq.) provided testing for such substances has been approved by the Commissioner of Health.(b) The following drugs or their metabolites have been approved for testing by the Commissioner of Health:(1) marijuana;(2) opiates:(A) codeine;(B) heroin;(C) morphine;(3) semi-synthetic and synthetic narcotics:(A) hydrocodone;(B) hydromorphone;(C) meperidine;(D) methadone;(E) oxycodone;(F) propoxyphene;(4) cocaine;(5) phencyclidine;(6) amphetamines:(A) amphetamines;(B) methamphetamines;(C) methylenedioxyamphetamine;(D) methylenedioxymethamphetamine;(E) phentermine;(7) barbiturates:(A) amobarbital;(B) butalbital;(C) pentobarbital;(D) secobarbital(8) benzodiazepines:(A) diazepam;(B) chlordiazepoxide;(C) alprazolam;(D) clorazepate; and(9) methaqualone.(c) If the United States Department of Health and Human Services has established an approved protocol and positive threshold for a substance not listed in (b) of this Section, testing for such a substance shall be deemed to be approved by the Commissioner of Health.(d) Drugs other than those listed shall be tested by scientifically established methods at scientifically established detection levels.
