SECTION 310:667-3-1. General

- (a) Policies describing mechanisms by which patient rights are protected shall be formulated by the medical staff, with input from administration, and approved by the governing body.(b) Patients have a right to considerate and respectful care from all personnel involved.(c) Policies regarding care of the patients shall consider differences in culture and religion which may result in differences in how illness is perceived.(d) Patients have the right, upon request, regardless of reimbursement mechanisms, to be informed of customary charges, in advance, for the type of hospital stay anticipated.(e) The hospital shall inform each patient, or when appropriate the patient's representative, of the patient's rights, in advance of furnishing or discontinuing patient care whenever possible.
