SECTION 325:85-15-48. Game interruption and resumption

- After a program interruption (e.g., power down), the software shall be able to recover to the state it was in immediately prior to the interruption occurring and:(1) If a Player Terminal is powered down while in an error condition, then upon restoring power, the error message shall be displayed and the Player Terminal shall remain locked-up. This is unless power-down is used as part of the error reset procedure, or if on power-up or door closure, the Player Terminal checks for the error condition and detects that the error is no longer in existence.(2) Upon program resumption, the following procedures shall be performed as a minimum requirement:(A) Any communications to an external device shall not begin until the program resumption routine, including self-tests, is completed successfully;(B) Player Terminal control programs shall test themselves for possible corruption due to failure of the program storage media;(C) The integrity of all critical memory shall be checked; and(D) Games utilizing microprocessor-controlled mechanical displays (e.g., reels or wheels) shall re-spin automatically to display the last valid game's result when the play mode is re entered, and the reel positions have been altered.
