- (b) For initial testing, a percentage of the sexually intact test-eligible animals in the herd shall be tested for brucellosis at an approved laboratory. This sample must be of sufficient size to detect a 2-percent prevalence of brucellosis in the herd at a 95-percent confidence level. Samples may be collected on the premises or at slaughter.
