SECTION 377:10-13-4. Policy

- (a) The facility shall have written policy and procedure establishing program goals, objectives, standard operating procedures and a system of regular review. Policy must be consistent with OJA policy.(b) The policy must address the following subjects:(1) screening criteria;(2) admission procedures;(3) disciplinary procedures;(4) visiting arrangements;(5) security and control;(6) discharge procedures;(7) personnel practices;(8) juvenile rights;(9) resident grievance procedures;(10) abuse reporting procedures;(11) clothing provisions;(12) personal hygiene provisions;(13) medical and health care programs;(14) educational programs;(15) recreational programs;(16) food and nutrition requirements;(17) general emergency procedures;(18) fire safety;(19) transportation procedures; and(20) suicide prevention guidelines.(c) The policy and procedure shall be available to all staff, including volunteers, and appropriate regulatory authorities. Any new or revised policy or procedure must be distributed to all staff, including volunteers.(d) The policy and procedure shall be reviewed and updated, if necessary, at least annually.
