SECTION 390:15-5-13. Administrative discipline

- (a) In the event that a trainee's personal conduct or academic performance falls below accepted standards, appropriate reports shall be submitted by the academy coordinator to the training division manager. Reports shall outline the nature and scope of the trainee's substandard performance or conduct, the nature of any counseling or remedial action taken by coordinator/instructors, and recommendations for resolution of the matter. A copy of these reports shall be retained in the trainee's file.(b) The training division manager shall make every effort to resolve the matter in the best interest of the trainee, the sponsoring agency, and CLEET. Should it become necessary, matters may be referred to the Assistant Director, and the trainee's agency head may be notified.(c) Trainees who wish to register a complaint regarding some aspect of his or her treatment at the academy, shall make every effort to resolve the matter with the class coordinator. In the event this is not possible, the class coordinator shall consult with the Training Division Manager on the matter. If necessary, arrangements shall be made for the trainee to discuss the complaint with the manager. If the matter cannot be resolved, the manager shall consult with the Assistant Director. Students wishing to appeal the decision of the Assistant Director may submit a request for appeal in writing to the Director.
