SECTION 390:35-5-13. Notification of change of name or address or telephone number

- (a) Private investigators, and security guards shall maintain, with the Council, a current residential address and a current telephone number. Notice of change of address or telephone number must be made in writing, with an original signature within ten (10) days of the effected change. Notices will not be accepted over the phone by fax, or by email.(b) Private investigators and security guards shall notify, in writing, with an original signature, CLEET of any change of name. Notification of change of name shall include certified copies of any marriage license or court document which reflects the change of name. Notices will not be accepted over the phone, by fax, or by email and must be made within (10) days of the date of change. The certified copy provided to CLEET will not be returned to the licensee. Any deviation from this Rule will require the Director's or his/her designee's approval.(c) The Agency owner or branch manager (in the instances of national corporations) shall notify the Council in writing, with an original signature of changes in the business address and/or telephone number within 10 days of the effective date of the change. Notices will not be accepted over the phone, by fax, or by email.(d) Failure to notify the Council of business address changes, business telephone changes, or residential address changes, in accordance with the provisions of this Section, shall be considered a violation.(e) If failure to comply with this Chapter results in Council Action, the use of "lack of notice" shall not be deemed as a valid defense in any proceeding.
