SECTION 390:35-5-8. Licensure of private investigators to carry a firearm

- (a) Licensed private investigators who wish to carry a firearm and performs no security guard functions, must obtain a "firearms authorized", endorsement on the private investigator's license. Private investigators who also work as an armed security guard must obtain an armed security guard and private investigator's license, or a combination license.(b) Private Investigators seeking firearms authorization who perform no security guard duties, must satisfy and meet all training and licensing requirements for a private investigator's license and complete all training and testing requirements for Phase IV firearms training.(c) Any person issued a valid private investigators license with a firearms authorized endorsement, may carry a firearm in accordance with the provisions of 59 O.S. Section 1750.5 (C).
