SECTION 450:18-7-22. Screening and assessment, process requirements

- (a) Written policies and procedures governing the screening and assessment process shall specify the following:(1) The information to be obtained on all applicants or referrals for admission;(2) The procedures for accepting referrals from outside agencies or organizations;(3) The records to be kept on all applicants;(4) Any prospective consumer data to be recorded during the admission process; and(5) The procedures to be followed when an applicant or a referral is found ineligible for admission.(b) Facilities shall have written policies and procedures for the purpose of admitting and assessing persons with special needs.(c) Compliance with 450:18-7-22 may be determined by a review of the following:(1) Policies and procedures;(2) Admission protocols;(3) Screening and assessment instruments;(4) Treatment records;(5) Interviews with staff and consumers; and(6) Other facility documentation.
