SECTION 485:10-10-8. Recertification

- (a) Certification as an Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) shall be renewed every two years in accordance with the schedule published by the Board.(b) The application for recertification must be completed and accompanied by the established fee before a new certificate is issued.(c) The applicant must submit an application containing such information as the Board may prescribe. If the application is not completed within one (1) year, a new application and new fee will be required.(d) The application for recertification must be accompanied by one of the following:(1) verification of employment as an AUA in an acute care setting for a minimum of 12 months within the previous 24 months immediately prior to renewal of AUA certification; or(2) verification of successful completion of twelve hours of clinical inservice appropriate to the AUA role within the previous 24 months; or(3) rewriting the certification examination with a passing score, both the written and core skills portions of the exam, within the 24 months immediately preceding renewal of AUA certification; or(4) verification of initial certification as an AUA within the 24 months immediately prior to renewal of AUA certification.(e) The fee for renewal of the certificate shall be established by the Board.
