SECTION 595:45-1-10. Rules of the waterways for vessels

- (1) Swells or wakes. A person shall not operate any vessel or encircle another vessel so as to create large swells or wakes thereby posing a threat to life or property.(2) Observe before starting vessel. No vessel operator shall:(A) start a vessel until the operator is certain the immediate area of the propeller is free of obstructions and clear of persons in the water, or(B) proceed in any direction from a stopped, standing, moored or docked position until such movement can be made with reasonable safety.
