SECTION 725:15-25-6. Outstanding balance on redeemed gift certificates

(a)   When the amount of a gift certificate exceeds charges for services rendered, the outstanding balance will be cleared using one of the following methods:

(1)   A new gift certificate for the remaining balance will be issued. The new gift certificate will carry the same expiration date as the original gift certificate.

(2)   A refund will be issued as follows:

(A)   A cash refund may be made if the remaining balances does not exceed the limit for cash refunds as specified in OAC 725:25-31-1 through OAC 725:25-31-51.

(B)   If the remaining balance exceeds the limit for cash refunds, the request for refund will be processed in accordance with department operating procedures.

(b)   The bearer may choose the method used to clear an outstanding gift certificate balance.
