SECTION 730:15-3-1. Commission dedications and commendations

- (a) Highways, bridges, and other facilities which are part of the state highway system may be considered by the Transportation Commission for dedication in honor of individuals deserving of commendation for their active involvement in the project or for outstanding service to the nation, this state, or their community. Persons proposed to be so honored shall have been deceased not less than five years prior to consideration. Proposals for the dedication of state highway facilities should specifically state the accomplishments upon which the proposal is based.(b) No facility or group of related facilities shall be considered for naming in honor of more than one individual or entity, once named. Except in the most unusual circumstances, the Commission shall not consider changing the name of the facility, nor shall the Commission consider changing or designating additional names to the current named facility or city street which is also part of the state highway system.
