SECTION 75:15-15-5. Governing authority, orientation

- (a) A certified program shall provide a minimum of 2 hours orientation training to members of the governing authority which includes, but is not limited to:(1) Program goals and services of each service component;(2) Program policies and procedures;(3) Underlying philosophy [OAC 75:15-1-1.1];(4) Confidentiality, to include verbal confidentiality, whether inside or outside of the facility and client records;(5) Client rights and grievance procedure;(6) Legal and ethical issues;(7) Overview of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking;(8) Open Meeting Act and recording of meeting minutes;(9) Open Records Act;(10) Rules, including standards and criteria to ensure multi-cultural needs of clients are met, used in certifying programs;(11) Role and responsibility of the executive director; and(12) Role and responsibility of the governing authority.(b) Orientation training shall take place within 90 days of election to the governing authority.(c) Members of the governing authority providing volunteer direct or indirect services to clients shall receive the prescribed orientation and training required for program personnel in addition to the orientation set forth in this Section.(d) Compliance with 75:15-15-5 shall be determined by a review of written policies and procedures, training materials, training records, and minutes of meetings.
