SECTION 800:10-3-6. Use of trotlines, throwlines, limblines, juglines and yo-yo's

  • (a)   General. Use of metallic and/or glass floating devices on trotlines and throwlines and metallic posts placed in the water as points of attachment for trotlines and throwlines is prohibited. Trotlines and throwlines shall not be set within three (3) feet of the surface at any point beyond six (6) feet from either point of attachment, except in Great Salt Plains and Ft. Supply Reservoir where the water is less than three (3) feet deep. Trotlines and throwlines are restricted to no more than three (3) lines and 100 hooks per person. Trotlines, throwlines, limblines and juglines shall have the owners name and address attached and be attended once every 24 hours.
    (b)   Closed areas. The following areas are closed as provided:
    (1)   The Poteau River downstream from Wister Dam to a point 1/4 mile past the confluence of the old and new river channels is closed throughout the year to trotlines and throwlines throughout the year.
    (2)   The Kiamichi River from Hugo Dam downstream to the first railroad bridge is closed to fishing with trotlines and throwlines throughout the year.
    (3)   Trotlines, throwlines, limblines, juglines and yo-yo's are prohibited in:
    (A)   all Department Fishing Areas, and all "Close To Home" fishing waters..
    (B)   lakes Sooner, Konowa, Carl Albert, Taft, Lone Chimney, Longmire, Pickens, and in the Black Kettle National Grasslands lakes (Spring Creek, Skipout and Black Kettle, aka Dead Indian).
    (C)   the Little River below Pine Creek dam for a distance of 2,000 feet.
    (D)   an area below Webbers Falls Lock and Dam No. 16 downstream for a distance of one mile.
    (E)   all Designated Trout Areas.
    (F)   the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.
    (G)   all ponds and lakes in the Ouachita National Forest.
    (H)   Lakes Hefner, Overholser (including tailwaters and downstream to NW 10th St. bridge) and Draper.
    (I)   The Salt Fork of the Arkansas River from the spillway of Great Salt Plains Reservoir downstream to the State Highway 38 bridge.
