SECTION 335:15-7-2. Citizenship as prerequisite for employment

- (a) In those circumstances, where citizenship requirements have the purpose or effect of discriminating against an individual on the basis of national origin, they are prohibited by Title 25 of the Oklahoma Statutes.(b) The Oklahoma Anti-Discrimination Act protects all individuals, both citizen and non-citizens, residing, domiciled or employed in Oklahoma, against discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap.(c) In addition, some states have enacted laws prohibiting the employment of non-citizens. Where laws prohibiting the employment of non-citizens have the purpose or effect of discriminating on the basis of national origin, they are in conflict with and are therefore, superseded by the Oklahoma Anti-Discrimination Act.
