SECTION 340:75-8-37. Child welfare (CW) specialist responsibilities for a child receiving Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS)

- The role and responsibilities of the CWspecialist for a child in Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) custody do not change when a child is eligible for or receives HCBS. The CW specialist complies with Oklahoma Administrative Code (OAC) 340:75 and supports the application for and delivery of Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS). The child's CW specialist is responsible for:(1) applying for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) on behalf of the child per OAC 340:75-13-28 and 340:75-13-29;(2) applying for medical services per OAC 340:75-13-61;(3) visiting the child in DHS custody in DDS placement, per OAC 340:75-6-48;(4) participating in the development of the child's DDS Individual Plan and attending meetings and case staffing as notified by DDS case management staff;(5) notifying the DDS case manager of court hearings and requesting pertinent information for reports to the court; and(6) arranging for the child's transportation, in collaboration with the DDS case manager, when the child must attend court.
