- (a) All herds of origin will be investigated. If investigation suggests infection, the herd will be quarantined, and a negative herd test will be required before the quarantine can be released. If herd testing results in classification as an affected herd by the designated brucellosis epidemiologist, the provisions of 35:15-45-92 will apply. When a herd blood test is not performed, a State or Federal animal health representative will prepare a statement indicating that the findings of the epidemiological investigation were discussed with the owner or the owner's representative and will include a list of the reasons the herd was not tested.(b) All adjacent herds and other herds having contact or exchanges with an affected herd will be identified and investigated. Herd testing will take place and individual herd plans developed as required by the designated brucellosis epidemiologist.
