SECTION 375:25-1-4. Submission of application form

- (a) The application shall be submitted to the sheriff of the county wherein the applicant resides. The procedure for submitting the application is found in Title 21 O.S. 1995, Section 1290.12. It shall be unlawful for any sheriff to fail or refuse to accept an application for a handgun license.(b) The sheriff shall submit the completed application, certificate of training (see Title 21 O.S. 1995, Section 1290.14) or an exemption certificate (see Title 21 O.S.1995, Section 1290.15), photographs, fingerprints, processing fee, and the report prepared by the sheriff to the OSBI within 14 days of receiving the completed application. It shall be unlawful for any sheriff to fail or refuse to process or submit the completed application and required materials to the OSBI within the time prescribed. These materials shall be returned to the OSBI in the self-addressed, postage paid envelope provided.
